As a performer, I live by the two thoughts. First, music is too expensive of a hobby not to be having fun. The other is that you need a reason for the audience to watch you live. Anyone can stream your music; you need something special to get them there. The passion that I play with embodies these values, as well as the gratitude I have for being able to play music for a career.
